We are reaching out to CBA members to design a logo for the 2019 Conference. The logo will be used to create ads, posters and signage . A simple bold version of the design will be used to print T-shirts and possibly a touch mark.

Here are some ideas and notes to about the conference that might be incorporated into the logo.

    - Conference theme "Fe on the Mountain

    - The conference will be held at the Nevada county fairgrounds in Grass Valley, Ca.

    - This is located on Highway 49 which snakes its way through California gold country.

    - The fairgrounds is notable for it's many tall Pines trees though out the fairgrounds.

    - We will have all the things to see and do that make CBA conferences the best

             --- Engaging demonstrators

             --- Fun contests

             ---Inspiring slideshows

             --- Gallery of members work

--- Education area with lots of forging stations

    - The main contest theme will be "Art in Motion"

Entries must be received by Oct 1st 2018

Winner will be selected by the committee in a blind judging (the committee won't know the artist of the entry)

Prize for winning entry---- Family conference passes with all the trimmings plus $ 250.00 cash

Bonus for illustrator vector drawings but a clear high-contrast image (jpg or.pdf file attachment) is all that's needed. A good scan or photo of a work on paper can work.

Submit a crisp, clear high-contrast, high-resolution image ( jpg or .pdf file attachment0. To be suitable for publication it should be 5x8 to 8x8 inches and at least 200 dpi. A good scan or photo of a work on paper can work. Vector graphics ( Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Inkscape, etc.) are particularly encouraged.

Video From Jerry Coe, Coe Studios, Berkeley

I was privileged to be shown this old shop recently. The smith worked here from 1889-1955 then died and his family closed the shop. When I saw it no one had worked or really been inside in 61 years. It was like walking through a time tunnel. I wanted to identify the tools and their uses for the Historical Library. Credit for filming and editing should go to Rob Reiter of the Lightroom in Berkeley, CA.

    Dear Friends, Colleagues And Supporters!
I am Zoltán Takáts (left), Head of Hungarian Blacksmith Guild.

We cannot thank you enough your contribution to The Devil’s Blacksmith documentary.
Without your help we couldn’t reach this state of the project.

We are really happy to announce that we reached the finish line with these fantastic numbers:
$3642 raised in our crowdfunding campaign
36% funded of our goal ($10000)
    53 funders

What is going to happen now?
We start to pay our debts for the last two years for this project.
This amount will fully cover the costs of two weeks shooting period from the years 2014-2015 (film crew + camera equipment).
It will partially cover the postproduction period for 2014-2015 (worked 110 hours so far on the project).
Hopefully we will find supporters for the rest of the budget in the near future.
    We really appreciate your support,
Together we can make this project happen!
    All the best,
    The TDBD Crew
