I’m looking for someone to make 24 pairs of lift-off or butt hinges, approximately 2″ × 2″. The look should be rustic, not ornate, and the hinge action needs to be tight rather than sloppy. This is a project for Fort Ross State Historic Park, an early 1800’s Russian trading post. The hinges will be used to hang cabinet doors for some reproduction furniture I am building.
If you are interested contact my listed email and I will send you a PDF of the hinge design.
I am also looking for someone to manufacture screw hardware for an 8’ tall vertical press. This is more a machinist than blacksmith project. I am building the press from white oak timbers, the screw mechanism will be 4’ long. The press will be a reproduction of a fur press, a device used to compress fur pelts into tight bundles for shipment. This is also part of the Fort Ross project.

Alex,

I feel very lucky to have procured the services of your own Toby Hickman. I tried to pull the post from the forum but couldn’t get my password and identity recognized. If possible, could you delete the post, or at least let people know my inquiry was filled.
