About the CBA
The California Blacksmith Association was formed in 1977 by a group of 17 blacksmiths dedicated to the instruction, practice and promotion of blacksmithing. CBA has developed into a thriving group of over 650 blacksmiths and enthusiasts. We are a diverse group of men and women whose common interest is is a passion for metal. Our non-profit, volunteer organization is dedicated to keeping the tradition, art and craft of blacksmithing alive. One of our goals is to lead blacksmithing through changes in technology and information sharing. CBA strives to be the leader in educational resources for blacksmiths.

Education is a main component of our mission at CBA. Our group is made up of various ages, skill levels and specialties. If your looking to make something in metal, through the CBA you can find the person who can guide you through the process. The organization thrives on members who give back.
“There was, and still is, quite a wonderful spirit of camaraderie among the members” -Robert Owings
